Dusan Marelj was born in Serbia and is currently based in Biella (Piedmont,Italy).

 

He studied at the Accademy of Fine Arts in Bologna.

 

Between expressionism and neo-expressionism Marelj's abstarct painting declares itself to be contemporary because it perfectly fits into the everyday's life, stripping itself of any political or religious reference and leaving an open field to a deeply instinctive painting where energy and intuition are a sign.

On canvas then, they become instrument and strenght of the artist to question and interact on the deepest places of our being

From this , the research-foundations are laid towards a regenerated and vital human dimension.
